Born (August 20, 1992) in Tangier (Morocco). He started the sport of Taekwondo at the age of 4, following his older brother (Bilal) and sister’s (Soukaina) steps. After a few years of practice, Jaouad started winning regional and national competitions and showed that he had exceptional talent and mentality.
At the age of 17, Jaouad moved with his family to Belgium with big ambitions and a lot of determination to achieve his biggest dream: Champion of the world.
The first few years weren’t as simple as expected. Jaouad wasn’t accepted in most schools because the only language he could speak was Arabic. He lost and lost in many competitions because of lack of international experience.
Giving up? Absolutely not. He always believed that he could do it. Jaouad’s family had an important place in his life, they always supported him and believed in him. Especially in challenging moments.
At the age of 23, Jaouad became the first and only Belgian world Taekwondo champion in history! Triple European champion, 2x Olympian, Multiple Grand Prix medalist and Winner of multiple G-International competitions.
Jaouad represented Belgium at the highest World and Olympic stages, but also outside the sports, he was designed as the best example of integration. He graduated from high school, learned, and can speak perfectly Flemish, French, and English.
In 2022, Jaouad started his own Taekwondo club to inspire the younger generation and help them to become champions in sports and in life.
